Measuring Guide for fitting to builders upstand
Measure internal AND external builders upstand
Internal builders upstand = (dome size - 150mm) +20/-0
External builders upstand = dome size +40/-20mm
If you are installing on your own upstand, the upstand height should be 200mm. For example, on our website is a drop-down menu for you to order from, ff you choose 1050x1050mm this would mean your structural opening would be 900x900mm. The builders upstand should be 75mm in width.
Measuring Guide for domes with PVC kerb
Measure internal roof opening
Acceptable tolerance = dome size +20/-30mm
If you purchase with an upstand then the size you order from our website’s drop-down menu will be the structural opening measurement (shown in the diagram above in red). Please note this does not apply if you fit on your own upstand.
Centre pane U-value is a measure of the thermal efficiency of the glazing type.
Ud-value is a measure of the thermal efficiency of the whole rooflight (calculated in accordance with NARM Technical Document NTD2).
Part L Building Regulations require a U-value of at least 2.2W/m2K: Brett Martin Daylight Systems recommend the use of at least triple skin rooflights in all applications
