Benefits of the Mardome Reflex Roof Dome Light
The Mardome Reflex has a number of important benefits to offer, all of which go toward making it a very appealing option for individuals and organisations that specialise in renovating commercial roofs:
- Strength and Durability – Thanks to the Marlon FSX LongLife Polycarbonate from which these rooflights are manufactured, each one is exceptionally durable. Up to 200 times stronger than glass, this material provides outstanding protection against falling objects in adverse weather conditions.
- Ease of Installation – Because it is designed to fit straight onto a weathered builder's upstand, the Mardome Reflex is very easy to install. Assuming the upstand is of the appropriate dimensions, you should not encounter any difficulties. Each roof dome light is supplied undrilled, with self-adhesive foam tape, weather-tight washers and cover plugs, ensuring the greatest degree of flexibility as far as installation sites and positions are concerned.
- Choice of Glazing Options – When you place an order for one or more Mardome Reflex Dome-Only Rooflights, you can specify which type of glazing you would like each unit to be fitted with. Choices include double and triple glazing, with clear, patterned and opal finishes available. Opal and patterned finishes provide additional privacy without compromising too much on the amount of daylight they allow into your property.
- Manufactured in the UK – Every roof dome light that Mardome manufactures is made in the United Kingdom, as are all of the rooflights, skylights and roof lanterns that we sell. This is to ensure that we are able to closely monitor QA procedures and provide our customers with the very best products at the very best prices.

Please see fitting instructions below and PDF at the bottom of this page and product data sheet.
This product fits to an existing kerb. 70mm or 100mm wide fixing flange which is supplied undrilled, for effective, custom fitting.
The Mardome Reflex dome only unit fits directly on to the builders upstand. If your external upstand size with finished roofling material is 1200mm x 1200mm then you would need to buy the 1200mm x 1200mm unit from the drop down menu on our website. The unit supplied has a built in tolerance to allow for small differences with the kerb or uneven roofing material as shown below.
- 70mm flange option = dome size +18/-60mm
- 100mm flange option = dome size +18/-120mm
The above tolerances demonstrate if you purchase a 900mm by 900mm size from our drop down menu, this would be the size shown above of your external upstand width. As an example, if you selected the 70mm wide flange option this would work even if the external kerb dimensions were between 918mm to 840mm.
*Centre pane U-value is a measure of the thermal efficiency of the glazing type.
Part L Building Regulations require a U-value of at least 2.2W/m2K: Brett Martin Daylight Systems recommend the use of at least triple skin rooflights in all applications.

Let’s take a look at why you should consider domed roof lights for your space.
Why Polycarbonate Is the Best Material for Roof Lights
Polycarbonate is a great material for roof lights because it is lightweight and durable. What’s more, polycarbonate dome roof lights are easy to install. They require no wiring, as they are designed to let natural light in without the need for electricity.
This in itself is highly appealing to home and business owners who are looking to cut back on their energy consumption. Moreover, this makes plastic dome roof lights a convenient and affordable option for those looking to add light to their home.
Our triple skin polycarbonate roof lights offer additional strength and protection and will withstand the elements. They also come in different sizes and shapes, so you can find the one that best fits your needs. We also have dome windows for flat roof homes and businesses.
Roof lights are traditionally unobtrusive and easy to install. They can be put into place quickly and easily by an unskilled do-it-yourselfer or a professional installer. So if you’re considering tackling the installation on your own, plastic roof lights might be the best option, especially if you’re inexperienced.
With polycarbonate dome roof lights, installation is easy because there are no panels needed. All you need is the dome structure itself, along with mounting equipment.
