The rooflight is supplied with an electrically operated hinge allowing additional ventilation and manufactured in the UK.
The Mardome Dome Rooflight Electric Hinged Vent Polycarbonate model is, in common with all of the rooflights from this well-regarded manufacturer, a high-quality unit that has been designed to meet the needs of the most demanding commercial property owners in the UK and across the globe. Supplied with a splayed, uPVC kerb, it can be installed on all types of flat and low-pitch roofs with considerable ease. This rooflight features an electrically operated hinge, which can be activated either via a mains-powered wall switch or an optional remote control. Rain sensors can be added to the remote control/receiver package, to ensure your Mardome Dome Rooflight Electric Hinged Vent Polycarbonate unit only remains open in fine weather. Whichever opening functionality you choose, you can rest assured the finished product will be manufactured to an exacting specification, from very durable materials.
Options
The Mardome Dome Rooflight Electric Hinged Vent Polycarbonate model can be ordered with clear, textured or opal glazing, with a choice of double, triple or quad skins available. In addition to the remote control package and rain sensors mentioned above, it is possible to order this rooflight with an optional trickle vent if desired. Furthermore, it can be ordered either with a manufacturer’s uPVC upstand or without (for installation on a builder’s upstand): the choice is yours. As far as size is concerned, you may choose to order rooflights with dimensions from 600 mm x 600 mm, all the way up to 1800 mm x 1800 mm.

Instructions To Measure For Builders Upstand Installation
Measure external builders upstand
Acceptable tolerance:
Fixed / unvented domes = dome size +20/-20mm
Opening / vented domes = dome size +40/-20mm
For example, height of the upstand should be 150mm high and the width should be 75mm if you are fitting on a builders upstand. As demonstrated in red above, your external timber size should match that of your purchased item (drop-down menu on our website) e.g both should be 900x900mm. If you purchase a 900mm by 900mm from the drop down menu on our website your external timber size as shown in red above (Measure here) should be 900mm by 900mm.
Instructions To Measure for Domes With PVC Kerb
Measure internal roof opening
Acceptable tolerance = dome size +20/-30mm
For example, the drop-down menu on our website allows you to choose the measurement you require. If you buy with a 150mm or 300mm high upstand and you buy a 900x900mm from the drop down menu then your timber size (shown above in red) which is your structural opening size should also be 900x900mm.

Upstand:
Builders upstand (opening / vented)
The dome comes with a uPVC frame. This attaches to the top of the builders upstand and all housing ventilation/opening equipment.
150mm uPVC
For mounting at roof surface level, providing 150mm of waterproofing height (exact kerb profile varies with specification)
300mm uPVC
Typically mounted below roof surface level, to provide 300mm of height for waterproofing and insulation
Trickle Vents
2 manually operated hit and miss trickle vents providing combined 8400mm² equivalent area ventilation. Please note trickle vents cannot be supplied with 450mm by 450mm size.
Warranty:
The design life of actuators is at least 10,000 cycles and where present, electrical actuators are guaranteed for 1 year. Our units are guaranteed for a period of 10 years but are anticipated to continue to be fit for purpose beyond this. We expect them not to distort and lose weather-tightness, not to become perforated or lose any major structural efficiency for around 20 years.

Do I need trickle Vents?
The rooflight ventilation option is usually selected for areas where in there is little or no air ventilation within the room. The ventilation is also selected in areas of higher humidity.
