COXDOME SHEV (AOV) systems provide a smoke and heat exhaust ventilation solution for residential and commercial applications. All products are certified to EN12101-2. SHEV (AOV) systems. In addition to providing smoke extraction in the event of a fire, the smoke vent rooflight also provide day-to-day controllable ventilation.
Available with clear or obscure polycarbonate glazing to enhance the building’s natural daylight, or with a fully insulated aluminium solid cover.
The COXDOME SHEV (AOV) range is available in a wide range of sizes and complies with the latest building regulations on fire safety and can be integrated into compatible Building Management System (BMS). Linked to a central control panel, control panels can be triggered from either manual override switches local to the ventilator and the ground floor by dedicated smoke detectors, or by interfacing with a third-party smoke detection/fire alarm system.

-What if I Don’t Want More Natural Light in My Building?
If you are looking for a heat and smoke exhaust solution that won’t allow more daylight into your building, our AOV rooflights are perfect for your needs. Rather than choosing clear or obscure polycarbonate glazing, you can simply select a fully insulated aluminium cover instead. You will still have the same exhaust and ventilation functionality, but no extra light will enter through your new rooflights when they are closed.
How Long Will I Have to Wait for My New AOV Rooflights?
Every AOV rooflight that we supply is made to order, here in the United Kingdom. However, it will still only take 2-3 weeks for your new rooflights to arrive so you won’t have very long to wait. If you are ordering rooflights for a new development, please ensure there is someone onsite to sign for them when they arrive. This will help to avoid any unnecessary delays or confusion. Also, if you are ordering a large quantity of rooflights, don’t forget to ask about our trade discount facility.
How Are AOV Rooflights Activated?
These advanced smoke and heat exhaustion rooflights are designed to open automatically in the event of a fire. In order to do so, they need to be linked to a central control panel, of which the manufacturer has a wide range available. Each control panel can be triggered either via a manual override switch or smoke detectors that are attached to it. Each panel is also fitted with a battery backup to ensure that it will still function as intended during a power outage. If you prefer, your new rooflights can be integrated with a smoke detection or fire alarm system from a third-party manufacturer.
How Long Do AOV Rooflights Take to Open?
The opening speed of these automatic rooflights is guaranteed to be less than 60 seconds. The actual time may vary, depending on the installation location, the location of smoke detectors if linked and other environmental factors.
Can These Rooflights Also Be Used as Access Hatches?
Larger AOV rooflights can be configured with an offset motor if desired, enabling you to use them as both access hatches and to exhaust smoke and heat in the event of a fire. If you are interested in this additional functionality, please leave a note when placing your order so we can inform the production team.
Lead time for this product is 2-3 working weeks. Please ensure labour is on site to take delivery and sign for the product.
