What Are Galaxy Dome Rooflights Intended For?

These dome-only rooflights are intended to provide a simple glazing replacement option for existing compatible skylights, helping to simplify maintenance and lower replacement costs for owners of all types of properties. If you are not sure whether they are compatible with your existing rooflights, please don’t hesitate to call or message us for clarification.

 

Are All Galaxy Dome Rooflights Custom Made?

Yes. You simply choose your desired dimensions, along with your preferred glazing and finish options, and once we receive your order we pass it through to the manufacturing facility. Despite the fact all units are made to order, there is a lead time of just 1-3 working days so you will not have very long to wait before your Galaxy dome rooflights arrive.

 

How Do I Know What Size to Order?

You should be able to determine the size you need to order by measuring your existing upstand or builder’s kerb. If you are not sure what you are doing, please feel free to call and ask for assistance. It will be our pleasure to help you place your order. We will also be happy to provide you with any further details that you may require, with regard to technical specifications etc.

 

Should I Order Doubler, Triple or Quadruple Skin Galaxy Dome Rooflights?

It really depends on what you wish to achieve. For most applications, double glazing is adequate. However, if you are taking every measure possible to reduce noise disturbance from exterior sources, triple or quadruple glazing will be preferable. If you are not at all interested in sound insulation (or energy efficiency), a single-skin rooflight will be fine. For everyone else, i.e. those who are somewhere in between the two extremes in terms of their priorities, it is a case of weighing the extra cost against the perceived benefits and deciding whether triple or quadruple glazing is really worth it to you.

 

Can I Install Galaxy Dome Rooflights by Myself?

If you are a professional handyman, you should be able to install these rooflights without any difficulties. If you are an experienced DIYer, you are also more than likely to be able to handle the installation process by yourself. However, if you have any reservations at all about your ability to complete the installation without incident, we recommend paying a local professional to take care of it for you.

Lead time for this product is 2-3 working days for all sizes and skins apart from Quadruple skin. Lead time for Quadruple skin will be 2-3 working weeks Please ensure labour is on site to take delivery and sign for the product.
